John Prato, PMHNP-BC is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with training and experience treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. For over ten years, John has cared for patients in various inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings.

John received his BA in psychology from Hofstra University and went on to study nursing. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wagner College, graduating with top honors. John continued his education at SUNY Stony Brook University, earning a Master of Science in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, once again graduating at the top of his class. John serves as adjunct faculty at Hofstra University and remains dedicated to providing the highest level of individualized, evidence-based psychiatric care. He is well-versed in psychopharmacological approaches working alongside with nonpharmacological interventions. In addition to his dedication to improving access to quality care, John is passionate about decreasing the stigma surrounding the seeking of psychiatric care and the use of psychiatric medications. He recognizes the difficulties individuals face when addressing their mental health concerns and strives to create a warm and non-judgmental space for his patients.
